Eraser löscht Daten aller Art sicher und unwiederbringlich. Die Freeware beseitigt Dateien, Ordner, den Browser-Cache oder Cookies und überschreibt anschließend den Speicher auf der Festplatte.

Eraser löscht beliebige Dateien, Order, Cookies oder den Browser-Cache. Über den rechten Mausklick auf einen Eintrag im Windows-Kontextmenü beseitigt die Software die Daten auch ohne den Umweg über das eigentliche Programm. Alte Speicherorte auf dem Datenträger überschreibt die Software beim Löschen bis zu 35 Mal. Das Open-Source-Programm nutzt dafür Methoden wie das besonders gründliche Gutmann-Verfahren. Anschließend sind die Daten nicht wieder herstellbar.
